This is a great place to get away for a few days with the Clark Fork River right below. The road in is gravel and nicely maintained. This is a dispersed camping area with no tables, or metal fire pits, but there is an abundance of rock-lined fire pits of previous campers, and there is only one vault bathroom. We have visited this place a few times and finally camped one night in our tent. The campsites are shaded by Ponderosa pines and a few Douglas firs. There were some rafters in the water when we visited in July, 2019.
This campground is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out area close to the swiftly flowing Marble Creek. There is one vault toilet and two fire rings with grills, but also a couple more spots with just rock rings. We tent camped last year and RV camped this time. Very nice!
We enjoyed our stay here in our tent. The spaces are close together but many were empty during the week. A very nice trail runs completely around the lake and nicely maintained.
This tiny 14 space campground is nice with very few campers during the week and is close to St Marie’s (10 mi.). There is potable water, vault toilets, and a nice day use area with a boat dock and ramp on the St Joe. No electric hookup.
We enjoyed our stay and would do it again. Quiet and close to the St. Joe River. There was even a pedestrian access to the river by our site where we could step right into the water!
All sites on the river side of the access road are reserve only, and in peak season it is usually full. There are some walk-in sites as well that are open in the middle of the week.
Electric hook-up an water is available at all reserve sites.
