This campground is awesome if you're not trying to go to far. I went on Memorial Day weekend so there were a lot of people so I'm not sure how crowded it would normally be. Eventhough there were a lot of people, you feel pretty isolated in your campsite and would see hardly anyone at night. We camped on a pseudo island between the two streams and the running water helped drown out any noise too.
Given that this is so close to boulder, a ton of people come here. Our campsite definitely had litter laying around which was really sad to see. It is awesome that it's so convenient but I wish people would practice leave no trace. We tried to drive in Friday night and all the campsites were full so some kind people let us share theirs. I'd suggest getting their early to get a good spot!
This campground is gorgeous! We didn't know what to expect but we definitely didn't think it'd be this pretty. We were trying to find some last minute dispersed camping and while this was crowded, it was perfect for what we needed. You definitely need 4WD to get there. We had AWD and didn't have any issues but there were some small sedans with 2WD and they couldn't get up the road. One car succeeded but had to try four times. There are flies at the campgrounds which is kind of a bummer but not too horrible.
