Beautiful area along the creek. Sites are large but little privacy. Head towards the exit and use site #18, most private and on the creek. Large group site available with reservation. Restrooms, drinking water, fire wood, and dumpster available. Each site has a cement picnic table and fire pit with grill surface.
Dispersed camping down a long, dirt road overlooking beautiful canyon and Sedona red rock. Rock fire rings at some sites, but signs indicated camp fires were not allowed. This is a very popular camping spot, so arrive early or try to camp during the week. Off-road vehicle recommended. We encountered many mosquitoes and bees, so bring big spray.
Off road trail will take you to a campground, but there are many dispersed sites throughout the trail. We found a beautiful small lake on our way up. Some fire rings made out of rocks, but fires were not allowed. Beautiful and quiet, no amenities as usual with dispersed camping. Only complaint was the swarms of mosquitoes. Get here early on weekends, sites fill quickly!
This campground was just taken over by the forest service. It used to be dispersed camping, but now it is $14 per site. Picnic table provided at every site and large fire ring at most sites. Bring your own fire wood or buy a bundle for $10. One portable toilet near the entrance. Campground host is super friendly!! The campsites are a little close, so not a ton of privacy, but a beautiful river flows right through the campground. Easy to access, about 25 minutes from Telluride.
Dispersed camping off dirt roads. Highly Used but still space for privacy. Fire restrictions in the summer. No cell service. Some groups were loud and some vehicle traffic throughout the night. Sites are not numbered, just camp near the road. Check out Woods Canyon Lake on the way in!
Standard dispersed camping along many off-road trails. Quiet and clean with no amenities. Fire restrictions in the summer. The West Clear Creek trailhead is nearby, so light vehicle trafiic for the trail. Tons of available spaces with privacy. No cell service.
Free camping just outside Joshua Tree. No amenities or designated campsites. Large open area where you can camp wherever you'd like. Previous campers have built fire pits from the rocks laying around. Beautiful views, off road vehicle recommend.
Beautiful park with tons to do. Campsites in area 1 were a little close together. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and charcoal grill. Bathrooms and showers available close by. Reserve early because it seems the campground is always full. Like most parks/forests, you cannot bring your own fire wood.
Quiet campsites with a view of the lake. Bathrooms are currently closed. Campsites offer little privacy. Fire ring, charcoal grill and picnic tables at each site.
Great campsites off the forest road. Amazing views of the mountains. Cement picnic table and fire ring provided. Basic bathrooms available. Steep decline into the river right next to the sites. About 10-15 sites available, first come, first served. Pretty secluded and private. Travel to the dam and reservoir for great water views!
Free campsites off the side of the forest road. Pretty secluded and quiet. Some cars driving past throughout the night. Each campsite is spacious with parking and campfire ring. We experienced big red ants in our site. First come, first serve. No reservations accepted. Forest Service officers collect license plate information to make sure you are not staying beyond the 14 days allowed.
Great views and great campsites. The tent sites include a sandy pad for your tent, picnic table, fire ring, camp fire grill, and parking space. Bathrooms are close to the campsites and were clean. Only downside to the campground is the campsites are a little close to each other. Camp store stocked with beer, wine, food, coffee, t-shirts, and gear. Bring your own fire wood. Laundry and showers located at the store for a fee. Campground was crowded, so make sure to make a reservation. Simple reservation process on their website. Easy access to the lake, parking and a short walk to the swimming beach right accross the street from the store. Kayak and paddle board rentals available. Didn't have any luck with the wifi, but who needs wifi when camping?! Also didn't have any cell service, but again, who needs it? Campsite is dog friendly!
