Great campsite on the Ohio River. Tent sites are grassy with lots of shade. water and electricity at site for $20.00. We upgraded to a vacant RV site with River Frontage for $35.00, since We were able to sleep In our SUV. Showers and toilets are clean. Staff is so accommodating! The exception? Trains blowing their whistle every 20-30 minutes all night long. The crossing is right by the campground. If you can sleep through it, great. I couldn’t.
We camped here for 3 nights and only 1 or 2 others were there. Probably due to the 105° heat of the day. Lol We knew it would be this way going in. Flush toilets were clean and water, although warm, was abundant in the bathrooms and outdoor facets. Lots of birds, including vultures were singing in the trees and Javelinas made daily visits. Most sites had sufficient shade, a level spot for tents, and tables. The nearby store has basic necessities and gasoline at reasonable prices. Laundry and showers available for $2.00 or less, each.
Arrived here, after 6PM, on a last minute reservation Severe thunderstorms in area Check In was smooth and friendly. Staff advised us game room would remain open all night, In case tenters wanted to have a dry place Ownwer offered us A Deluxe Cabin for $12.00 more We took the offer due to the weather Yea! Cabin was cleanand well stocked, complete with porch swing. One downer Bed needs to be replaced unless rolling to the middle is fun for you . Tent sites are close together with little shade Showers and toilets are great A little less than an hour to Carlsbad Caverns. Bring groceries with you, as the campground store has a limited stock of necessities. $38.00 per night for a tent site with no utilities.
Approx, 10-12 Grassy Tent sites, with shady trees, on a small 6 acre lake with entertaining ducks that do not beg for food. Lol. Lots of RV sites with full hook ups, including, 105 long term users. The showers and toilets were clean with lots of hot water. Laundry room with 6 washers and 6 dryers. A little road noise from l-84. 2 miles from shopping and fuel. Friendly staff. Surprisingly good, as this was our first “private” campground we’ve ever stayed at. $27.00, including tax, per day.
