Beautiful Tranquil Setting (at least during the week)

Delighted to find this facility on our return trip from Maine to NC. We camped next to the brook and one couldn't have had a much better experience! Had supper in nearby Kent which is a fantastic small village.

Comfortable State Park with a Few Unusual Features

Stayed two nights in this park on our way from NC to Maine. We were happy to find a nice wooded site and had a quiet, refreshing stay. An easy rewarding walk is the "Shades of Death" trail - gotta love the name. Also worth an exploratory trip is their mammoth boulder field and learning about the last Ice Age.

Pleasant Stop for an Overnight or a Couple of Days

Picked this one off the internet for a two-night stay on our way from NC to Maine. Though Saturday night was a bit crowded, we had it to ourselves on Sunday-Monday. Decided to stay another night on our return trip and it did not disappoint. The staff is very friendly and helpful; the sites are large, though fairly open to each other. There are a couple of nice, short trails and the natural chimney formations are fascinating. Thanks to a tip from the office, a great bonus was eating at an Italian restaurant in nearby Bridgewater. Will be giving it 5-stars in an upcoming TripAdvisor review.
