Listen to the warnings in the reviews of this campsite. If you are tenting don’t expect to sleep well. I didn’t listen to the cautions and regretted it all night. We picked this campground because the website said they offered a shuttle service to the DT. When I asked the women at the counter (who were very nice) it appeared they had forgotten the website said that quickly said they weren’t offering it that day (it was a Friday). We were then charged 42 dollars for our tent site, we should have just turned around and got an Air B&B at that point. The showers were nice and the wifi connection was good however.
We camped here for 6 nights as a home base while fishing the area. I would say 17 bucks a night is a little pricey for a tent site but not outrageous. The tent sites were well shaded. Bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly. Water access could have been better. Wifi would have been nice but is it really camping at that point. Fishing was good in the pond nearby. Beware of the feral cats and raccoons though. We spent an entire night fending them off with a slingshot and they didn’t bother us again.
Absolutely crammed on weekends. If you can get there on a weekday though it is very nice. Follow your GPS religiously, it is very rural but google maps won’t lead you astray. Good fishing from the river banks too. Bathrooms aren’t anything to brag about.
This place saved my buddy and I. Didn’t book ahead anywhere else in town and ended up stumbling into this little gem. Just beautiful spot. The bathrooms could have been better but the gorgeous scenery and safety made up for it. No one around at all, friendly staff when you needed and dirt cheap.
