Options to get to this camp ground is only by boat, ferry, or kayak. We kayaked out here for a night. Some sites have designated hammock posts which is helpful. And all sites are a short walk to the beach, ocean side. The docking station does provide transportation to the campsites otherwise it would be a long walk. So many no-see-ums!! Pack lots of bug spray and reapply often!
Lots of hiking paths available and major views of the Missouri River. Option to camp in the on site tepee.
There are a lot of camp sites packed in this place but there is a lot to do. Right on the lake so bring water toys. Nearby you can rent canoes and kayaks which will drop off and pick up right to your site. Hiking trails and fourwheeler trails too. Full shower areas as well.
This place was quite the drive to get to but so worth it. The lake views are breathtaking and lots of wildlife encounters. Met a black bear on the trail there and deer were visiting our campsite all night. The ranger stationed there was very friendly and helpful.
this camp ground is first come first serve so you better get in early to claim your site. Set up shop, then enjoy the rest of your day. A handful of sites are water adjacent and they are worth it. Some sites will put you very close to your neighbors. There is a bathroom facility and bear boxes. We sleep in hammocks and there was an abundance of trees to use.
