the layout is weird. no waterfront by the full hookups. All the good sites are standard hookups or no electricity at all. Shade all around but over your camper. So it has a hard time cooling. Just not what I have heard about it.

Our first time here and it wasn’t that bad of a place. San Marcos river in the back with a little place to fish, kids catch and release pond. Sites are extremely close. I did not like that. Staff is very friendly. Oil rigs make the town stink some. Lots of things to do in surrounding area

we go a lot to this place. Nice spacious private sites, easy access to the water, very clean friendly place. Our last visit kind of made me not want to return. We always rent a canoe. well they have doubled on their prices on rentals of canoes and kayaks. I will not pay that price. Now they have these huge wind socks in bright colors everywhere. the staff was not as friendly or as helpful as they used to be. why change something when it was already good. sometimes upgrading is not the best option. It has made us not want to go back. But overall the park is nice. If you have never been I recommend going, but for us who have gone there for years, and now all the changes, we do not like. This is campsite #12.
