We dry camped down the road, so my review is from using The Last Resort dump station ($10 fee), and little store. The owners where super friendly and helpful guides of the area. They have cabins, RV sites (a little tight so if you are over 40 feet call ahead), dump station, propane, gas, and water.
They also provide recreational access to the local wind farms.
Finally a park where you have a little space between RVs. Full RV hook-up and internet for $35 per night. The owner drives through the park daily to say "Hi" and check on you visit.
Stop in and check them out!
Photo updates 2020 prices. Nice little camp ground along the river. The site were clean and the park busy. Be prepared for road noise that drowns out the sound of the river.
2020 prices in the photo. Clean camp with multiple water points. There's 4 or 5 spots large enough for an RV away from the river. Several flat tent camping spots along the river.
We found the location a little noisy because HWY12 run along the north side of the park.
See my related reviews for Peninsula Camp ground for more information leading up the final camp site.
Really crowded area with limited parking. However, if you arrive early enough you could occupy one of the few tent sites on the narrow peninsula portions of this area. The facilities here needed some real attention.
Bring your kayak, boat, or fishing rod and enjoy your day. I took a couple of photos looking back at it as that was the best way view the area without walking through camp sites.
The air field had a large dumpster and was home to several RVs. There is access to a few more camping spots along the lake shore.
Read my other review reference Peninsula Camp Grounds for details leading up to this site.
From the road you will walk downhill to setup camp. This area was really packed with campers and had very limited parking. Not an RV friendly area.
Peninsula Camp is one of 3 designated camp grounds on the East end of Rimrock Lake. From the UPFS air field you will pass the first designated camp - suitable for dispersed RV'ing and the roomiest area. As you travel the One-Way loop, you will pass multiple locations for tent camping just off the road and cars lining the shoulder. You can find a few med sized camp site for RVs especially near the boat launch.
The views were amazing but all the campers made so much noise, we moved. This might be a better review on a less busy weekend.
Bring your own water and the facilities were lacking attention, if they were open at all. Be prepared to rough it.
Winter storms laid trees across the rough road making it narrow yet passable in a car or truck. FR45 (main road to Soda Spring and some really great hiking) cuts the camp ground into two sections. This a tent only camp ground, so be prepared to rough it. When there is no traffic, the sound of the stream is really soothing. Great place to car camp.
23 May 2020 - you can drive to the "Y" intersection for the camp grounds and horse camp, but the snow was so deep that walking is the only option. Several car made turning around in the intersection difficult.
