Another Maricopa County parks campground which is great for hiking and relaxing.
Very well taken care of. The park has beautiful hiking trails and a great nature center, which offers activities and the regional library. There are a couple of playgrounds in the park as well.
Some hiking trails are within walking distance of the campground, others you will need to drive to. Maricopa trail runs through the park.
The campground itself is very clean, including the restrooms and showers. It is quiet and the campsites all have electric and water hookups, picnic table and fire pit. Sites are far enough from each other so it doesn't feel crowded. Not much vegetation on the campground itself, so sunshine in abundance.
Maricopa County Park in Cave Creek. Very well taken care of.

The campground itself is very clean. It is quiet and the campsites all have electric and water hookups, picnic table and fire pit.
There is an older area, sites 1 through 42, which offers more space in between the spaces. the newer area, sites 43 through 55 are closer to each other, but still doesn't feel crowded.
Stayed here with my 2 year old granddaughter. Plenty of other kids to play with. A combination of tents and RV's.
Beautiful area, playground and swimming pool, right on the creek which is accessible for swimming.
Restrooms were very clean. Did see some small trash on the campground and would have expected that to be cleaned up. The pool area needs repairs and updating, but nothing that would stop me from swimming.
Lots of dogs and did see dog waste that the owners didn't pick up :(
Overall a great stay for families. Would not recommend during the summer or weekends if you don't want to be around kids.
The campground is being totally overhauled. It looks great so far and the facilities are very clean and nice. there is a nice big pool. the major thing missing are trees for shade and some privacy. there are only a few spots with nice big trees, all other sites have nothing. Which is OK in the Arizona winter, but not when it is still hot.
We were here when it as really slow, not sure what it will like when the campground is full.
Campground is very busy and good for families for one or two nights. Would not stay here for an extended period of time. Spots are very close to each other and no privacy. Kids do find a lot of other children to play with.
Staff is not very friendly and won't go out of their way to make things more comfortable. I arrived in a small pop-up trailer and was given a very small site which looked like all the rain water from the previous storm had carved several new canyons into the ground. Site was very unlevel, which I would not be able to correct with leveling blocks. I went beck to the front office and was advised to go walk around and write done the spots that were empty so they could give me a new spot. Really! They didn.t know which other spots were available?
Located in the scenic Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in north central Arizona near the town of Heber.
Beautiful campground. Very well taken care of. Sites are large and spread out. Very quiet. Great tall pines for nice shade in Arizona summer.
No organized activities. Not much to do for children if they are looking for activities.
Showers and bathrooms are very clean but showers only open at 8:00am.
