We were driving up to Crested Butte and managed to snag a spot at Pinion Flats one night on the way up. It did not disappoint. There was a trail straight to the dunes from the campsite. The dunes were visible from the campsite and it was amazing. There were mountains behind the site and dunes in the front view. So beautiful. The campsite itself had plenty of space for me and my 4 friends and my dog. There was a grill ring and bench and also a bear box for food. Will say I got bit 2 times by fire ants at the site. Other than that, great location! We were at campsite 49.
I went camping at Eagle Rock due to my usual spot on Beaver Lake being full that weekend. I had never been there so i decided to give it a shot. It was a nice quiet spot right on Table Rock Lake. The campsites were reasonably spread out and was very shady and nice. I bought two camping spots for me and my 3 other friends and it ended up being way more room than we needed! I will say that campsite 3 is not even land but plenty of trees and great for hammock campers! We ended up using site 4 for all of us and it was great. It had a bench table, fire pit and small other table off to the side. I took my dog and he had plenty of room to play too. A great time all around!
We stopped to camp here on a trip to Northern California and we were not disappointed. We were in campsite 26 which backed right up to water. It was great! We had a beautiful view of the canyon valley and the stars at night were perfect. Plenty of space and privacy.
This spot is a bit out there, but it was a great spot to camp out in the desert. There was only one other person there when we went so that was nice that it was pretty vacant and quiet. We stopped here on our way home from Northern California to Arkansas, it was a bit of a random stop but we were tired of driving and found this place. It has great desert scape views and adorable burros! There was potable water available and a pit toilet available as well. The sites had fire rings too. If you follow down the dirt road for a bit too you will find the Wildrose Kilns which were truly a cool sight to see. If you camp here, you might as well go down and check out the giant beehive like kilns. It’s a long dusty rocky trail but worth it!
Great little spot close to a lot of nice trail heads and close to all of the amenities of Yosemite. Was recommended this spot by a friend who works for the park and was so glad!
