Family of 5 camping lovers!

My only regret is not staying longer

Zion National Park is a treasure and my very favorite national park. My kids had a blast and we soaked in every moment we could

Beautiful and very well kept

The best part about camping at the Grand Canyon, is that you don’t have to commute to the Grand Canyon each morning. Sunrise is absolutely astonishing.

Favorite N.C. Park!

Grandfather Mountain is simply amazing. The CD given to you at the gate is something we listen to often. The visitor center could be a zoo. It is full of educational information and animals. The hikes are second to none with gorgeous views. Camp sites are pristine. I wouldn’t go back everyday if I could.

Great family campground

I have camped here many times throughout my childhood and adulthood. Miles of trails and so much to do. Always with clean sites and attentive staff

Absolutely beautiful

Great place to stay when admiring the beautiful CO scenery

Primitive camping

We did primitive camping, and they were way nice, very spread out and the kids brought their bikes and that's what they did most of the time, and we felt like it was safe enough for them to go bike riding. There was a place where we could put off on a kayak or go fishing

They have little cabins that are not too expensive either that have air and heating, if we go in the summer again we will probably do those

The only thing we mentioned was it would not be very fun if you went with a group because the places were so spread out and where not big enough to have more than one tent each

The bathrooms did not have running water, but they do a composting type of toilet and it did not stink at all and they were always very clean.

Great trip despite the flat tire!

Good park

We went in November and it was nice to have a quiet campground to explore. Nice trails and water access.

Great park, okay camping

The park is amazing and definitely worth the stay so you can see the entire park. The campground wasn’t the best I’ve been to, but worth it for the amenities around it. Sites were close together and have a parking lot feel. I didn’t stay in the lodge, but I’d imagine that would be a nice stay if you didn’t want to camp. The deli was nice. We saw wild turkeys everywhere and the caves were absolutely amazing

Not my vibe

Camp Clearwater is mostly permanent structures, this definitely isn’t wilderness camping. We didn’t end up staying at our site once we saw how busy it was The swimming beach wasn’t clean, but it was a fun place for kids to play.

Great trails and hikes

The tar trail was a lot of fun for my kids to run and get some energy out! The educational center was great and had so many interactive activities.

Yurt!

Honestly, I forgot to put the pics on my other review. Here’s picture of the yurt. Only complaint was the the yurt windows were not facing the bay breeze, so we had to make a wind tunnel

Large park with great yurt!

We really enjoyed camping in a yurt. Great dog beach as well!

Great place to go with kids

Great park with SO much to do. The hike down to the river isn’t bad, my 2 year old did it. The River bank is known for a great place to find shark teeth and fossils. Though, there was also a decent amount of trash. There are several play grounds, tours of the mansions, swimming pool, and a tractor museum. So much fun!

Youth group trip

I hiked GHSP and part of the AT with a youth group overnight. Beautiful trail with wild ponies. We stayed in the shelter up the mountain over night and a pony made his way to the opening of the shelter causing a dog to bark thinking it was a bear. Great hike, great learning experience, beautiful views.

Hometown fun

I have spent my childhood here and I am excited to share it with my kids. We hike here when visiting grandparents. Chesapeake Public Park’s does a great job with events and education at NWRP! Equestrian trails available, which is always a plus.

Great hike

Beautiful hike. We were with a group of 5 kids under 6 years old and we made it to the top huffing and puffing. It was well kept and worth the climb.

Return Camper

Camped here for the second year and it was just as breathtaking. We had site A12 right in front of the bathrooms (great for kids) there is a path through the woods to site A13, so it was great to have the rest of our family at that site. This campground is SO kid friendly. Great Lake, fishing, swimming, and trails.

When I go to set up, the sites are always pristine and beautiful.

Sherando is the campground I suggest first when anyone asks where my favorite place to camp is!

Beautiful

We loved the educational experiences at this park. Very knowledgeable and clean.

Fun and educational

So much fun to camp here. They had a controlled burn of the Holly Hill Loop In February. It was really neat and educational to see the charred bottoms of the trees. The lake is beautiful and great for kids. We will be going back!

Great location

Good location off of 85. Great trails and equestrian trails!
