Do not book site 30

We usually stay at campsites that are pretty private so this may be normal but we were pretty unhappy about the site we booked. Online it is very difficult to tell what the sites are like and site 29 and 30 have nothing separating them which is kind of awkward. Also, behind site 30 is a vault toilet that people would occasionally walk directly through our campsite to get to. I’m not sure if this was a path that was intended to be taken or not but it was definitely not ideal if you would like to get away. The showers and bathrooms were fairly nice and there are many hiking trails that are close. I would probably visit this park again but camp somewhere else.

Great for dirt bike and atv trails

My family has stayed here many times to use the dirt bike and atv trails. There is a lot of variety for different levels of difficulty. It can get busy. I don't think I would like to stay here if I wasn't using the trails due to the noise even though there are sites on a nice lake.

if you are staying here, there is a lot of wood that is available to pick up for fire wood.

Nice but wet

This campground has similar amenities to other state forests. We really enjoyed staying in the walk-in camp site. It gave us a lot of privacy for our dogs. The only complaint is it does tend to be a bit wet. There were hiking trails that we ended up turning around on because they got too swampy. The trails we were able to hike were beautiful.
