There are a lot of things to do/see here. Headwaters, fish on lake itaska miles and miles of hiking/biking trails. Now the camping its really nice on weekdays and its ok on weekends but weekends have more kids and noise as expected. The major downfall was the FLIES they were insane there were so many one day we had to go inside just to get away. So plan on some fly deterrent method. This trip tought us we need it.
It’s a nice park but no swimming beach we could find. Sites are nice sized and it’s quiet $6 for firewood. Will come back for a weekend the staff we have seen seem very nice. As of now NO showers.
The spots are nice very dog friendly and lots of family's. Nice big fire pits. Just an over all nice place might come back it's a 4.5 hour drive for us.
It’s a nice little campground on the Mississippi River. It’s busy during the day but it’s quiet at nite all have electric, fire ring, picnic tables. Nice bathrooms and shower (1mens and 1 women’s) flushing toilets. Central located water spigot for drinking also a dump station with water. Now the bad if the wind is blowing wrong you smell the waste water treatment plant next door. It’s not super overpowering but you notice it. We will be back it’s so peaceful here.
