We stayed there 1 night after the other place we stayed was a disaster. Very nice park. Very well maintained and taken care of. Lake was nice with large clean and well kept sand beach for $5 a person. They had paddle boats, kayaks for rent as well. $22 for electric sites, a little pricey at $12 for nonelectric primitive sites. They have firewood available for $4 a bundle and ice at $5 a bag. VERY VERY clean and well taken care of bathroom/shower house. Flush toilets and hot water showers. Was very impressed with them, honestly cleaner than most gas station bathrooms! Nicely located with lots of other parks and activities within driving range, like cave-in-rock and the Ohio river. Paducah Kentucky is only about a 30 minute drive where you can get anything you’d need from shopping to eating. The only bad is they only had 1 very small playground located centrally in the campground. We will definitely be staying there more often when we head down to Shawnee National Forrest.
Only stayed here for 1 night. Pit toilets were dirty even for pit toilets. Decent primitive sites, not very level though. Good for tent camping or small camper. Unfortunately some other “campers” showed up late in the evening, played music, yelled and partied until around 3am. It seems to be an ongoing problem at that campground. The only plus is the amazing rock formations, good trail system and great little swimming hole. Great place to spend the day and maybe the night if you can sleep though all the commotion.
Beautiful lake with good fishing. Spots are a little unleveled but not bad. Nice restaurant, a little pricey but good food.
Beautiful and well taken care of campground. Very friendly and welcoming. Christian faith based campground but not pushy about religion at all. Nice little lake and nice store. Very full at time when Turn Around is going on at the local oil refinery and workers come from out of state.
Nice little community park. Nice paced walking path around the lake. Fenced in dog play area. Large park area with multiple playgrounds. Clean bathroom, flush toilets and showers.
We stayed there for one night. The park superintendent was so polite and helpful. He even told us where they had been stacking wood from clearing out some trees near the campground and encouraged us to use all we need. Very clean pit toilets. Very good fire pits with cooking grates. Every spot has a picnic table and trash can. Very nice close walk to the north boat launch from the campground. Well kept cleared trails. Very nice and well maintained playground in the middle of the campground. Great views of the lake. 4 bars on Verizon.
