Recommended to stay here by local camp company. First off, you drive through a new housing development being built. Red flag #1. Then cross by train tracks. Red flag #2. Then you drive by all the massive RVs and generators. Red Flag #3. So no forest, loud generators everywhere, and train whistles. Not exactly the State park I envisioned to camp in. At least the bathroom was clean after you trek across a barren landscape.
Stayed here one night on the way to My Rushmore. Checkin super easy and she made a great dinner recommendation for the best burger in Custer. Campground was peaceful, set in the trees, and we saw hot air balloons over head in the morning with some friendly wild turkeys walking through. Overall, awesome with clean bathroom shower. Will stay again for sure.
Bathroom and showers are super clean. Owners were helpful in recommending a place to eat and let us pick our spot. Enjoyed the cows who came up to visit.
Pulled in and it looked nice but it’s right near the road. So pretty noisy at night with trucks going by. There is a Hampton Inn next door doing construction so promptly at 730am, bull dozers and construction began. Showers and bathrooms were clean though
