This campsite is good although you can not reserve a spot, aka it is on a first come first serve basis and it can/does fill up. It is kind of busy but no where near as busy as the main campground in the center of the southern rim "town". The camp host were friendly and knowledgeable, so if you get the chance talk with them! There is an observation area/tower that is a moderate walk and a small gas station that is close as well. There is flush toilets but no showers here. I was impressed with the quality of water coming from the pumps. Overall, if I were to come to the south rim again, I would without-a-doubt be staying at this campground!

The Badlands actually turned into a pretty cool place. I didn't think the National Park was going to be as nice and fun as it was. The open climbing policy is pretty cool for those adventurous enough to climb. There was a picnic bench with a sun/wind breaker overhead and to one side of the bench. There are flush toilets, running sink water, coin operated showers and there is pump drinking water. The sites are very open with no trees. However at times it did get pretty windy so some of our things started to blow around (Including our tent at one point). Overall, I enjoyed this campground and would have no problem going back.

This campground is eh. Its very dewy and wet, not because it rained or anything but because the vegetation is very thick. We walked around the historic town of Forestville at night and it was really really creepy. There is no flush toilets. There are port-o-potties and water pumps. We stopped here for the last night of our road trip because we couldn't make it home in one shot. I wouldn't stop here again because it was so wet and just a forest.

This campground is by far the most beautiful "in your backyard" view yet! Our site was in the woods over looking a small prairie and large lake. On the opposite side of the lake there were several mountains which made my morning breakfast amazing. We saw several deer at night run through the prairie. The campground is primitive with no flushing toilets or showers. There are water pumps and vault toilets throughout the campground. This place is hard to find from the main highway to Durango and our car GPS didn't know where to go. Luckily we printing off directions so it was all good. If you aren't fishing or kayaking, which we didn't do, there isn't really a whole lot to do at this campground. There is a trail which seemed nice but other than that it was pretty much just an overnight stop on our road trip. I suggest bringing a canoe/kayak to take out on the lake! Overall, amazing views and nice manager!

Slyvan Lake is a great place to camp! When I went in Mid July, there was ONE spot left in the whole campground. I booked 1.5ish weeks in advance so if you want to stay here (which I suggest you do) plan ahead! There are showers around the camp ground and water pumps as well. The lake is a walk away or short drive. At the lake there is a general store with firewood. The lake loop is a cool, short hike. Just be careful jumping off the rocks, there are certain spots where it is totally fine but if you are feeling more adventurous and try to find a new spot to jump: simply don't. Me and my friends almost landed on a rock in the water we couldn't see, because we were being adventurous.
