The sites were nice and clean. Ok size. We weren't on top of anyone but would have been nicer if they were just a tad larger. We loved the fire ring! Not to large or deep that we couldn't see our campfire in the evening.
Nice campground! Electric and water. Site on the incline were tricky with a larger rig. Ours had room but other family rig was tight. The bearproof lockers on each site was a great addition. However, camp maintenance needs to be sure they are free of people's garbage. Family could not use theirs as it stunk badly. Quiet for it being full.
Joined family at the last minute. Reservations a must. Some areas very hilly and sites not level. If it says slight incline. Think twice or call. Some sites will not accommodate large rvs. If the site looks like it is close to another,IT IS! Shower house and toilet facilities were a 3, on a scale of 1 to 5. Have seen better and much worse. Sis have electric and water which made it a plus. Wifi was ok. Phone reception for Verizon ok if your site was on the same level as camp store and washroom. NO reception if down the hill. We were there in Oct first half. Site near hickory trees. We felt like we needed hard hats when sitting at sites. When the nuts fell out of the trees it sounded like someone throwing rocks. Or when they hit the camper shells would explode sound like gun fire! Nice hiking trails. Some challenging. Twin falls were very cool.
We left another campground for this one. We loved it here. Great buffers between most sites. Loop C have pull though sites and a very nice and roomy. Loops A and B have a variety of sizes. Some really nice tent sites and smaller campers. We have a 25ft and found several great spots. We also have a dog that needs room. Our site gave him that. Our site was clean. Vault toilets on every loop and 2 shower/flush toilet houses near loops C & B, and one near B & A. They were very clean. We had spotty reception but did receive calls and text. We only had 2 neighbors while We were there. The last 2 nighr we were alone. We were there late September. It was beautiful. By far one of the best state parks in Michigan we have camped at. Would definitely be back!
Price was reasonable however… the sites were on top of each other. Nearly 90% were full time seasonal.
Were out of campfire wood when we got there. The restrooms where moderately clean. I wouldn't touch the trash. It was filthy.
The septic was having issues. Couldn't pull up to dump station on our way out. It was under service. We booked 7 days, left the second day.
We saw ONE site that would have been nice but won't go back to try it
One of our favorites. Many sites right on the lake. Clean restrooms, attended often. Camp host was supposed to fire wood but the 3 times we inquired , they were out. Nice large sites. Had issue about having more than one vehicle. Daughter pull fishing boat other daughter met up with us but she could not leave her vehicle there. Had to park at the local convince store. No other parking space available.
We love this campground! We spent 7 days with friends. The site that we both had were huge. Nicely shared. Mostly shaded but did have a few areas of sun. I loved the fire pit. I cook over the open fire and the size and type of ring was great. It had good ventilation which allows the fire to breath. The vault toilets could use a good clean out and start fresh but the stall area was clean. The camp host was great. We had a vehicle break down and he Googled the problem, found the issue and steered us to places that could help. He was friendly and very helpful.
This is a very quite campground. Big sites with many close to the water. Several water pumps and out houses. One of my favorites!
I love this campground. Most site are roomy. Some have pathways to lake. Clean toilets and sink facilities. Boat ramp and dock.
This is a great horse camp. Have camped here many times. Pump water and river for horses. Manuer bunkers and solid poles for highline tying. Some cell phone reception but spotty.
