Every year, they re-enact Washington's troops crossing the Delaware!
It was VERY cold the year I went. To warm up, there is a small visitor's center where they have a reproduction of the famous painting commemorating the moment.
Nice area to hike around, with access to the AT. There is also a stretch of trail that they deem the "old AT" before it was relocated.
Part of the trail cuts through some areas with cows - beware the cow pies!
We enjoyed our time at DeSoto State park. Good spots to camp, and if you don't like the usual tent thing, you can rent a chalet. Enjoyed the kayaking as well.
Encountered this gem while hiking the Loyalsock trail, a 59 mile hike that snakes east to west through Pennsylvania.
World's End Park, though quite the scary name, was absolutely beautiful!
We had such good weather, but in mid August some of the water sources were dry. If you bring a filter and keep a good pace you should be good to go!
This is a very nice park, split between an RV section and a camping section. Firepits available, a playground for kiddies, basic bathrooms, and a short walk to the beach!
