Beautiful Bowman

There are several primitive campgrounds to choose from. Some right near the lake. There is a pit toilet, but no water or fire rings. The drive is long and fairly rough. Having a vehicle with some clearance helps. It is possible to get a smaller trailer there but not recommended. The lake is beautiful and try to hike to the waterfalls at the creek at the end of the lake if you can. We’ve never had issues with animals or bugs at Bowman Lake.

Ocean Cove is one of our favorites

Ocean Cove is a private campground right off Highway one. The owners are very friendly and helpful and they also own the grocery store across from the campsites. The prices are good and it is very family friendly (including dogs). We try to get here once a year if possible. The views of the Pacific from the bluffs are just beautiful, and there are plenty of places to explore a short distance from the campgrounds. There are port-a-potties, coin operated showers, boat launch, fish cleaning station and potable water available. Tent, Trailer, or RV are welcome here.
