Nice place to get away

I camped in the Springfield loop. Fairly new picnic table, decent site for a hammock. I hiked and ran on the Dockery Trail, which has a nice mix of parks and pines. I also visited the swimming area which was a 4 mile drive, though I didn't swim.

Nice site, bring a tarp

We got rain every day. I should have brought a tarp for over the picnic table. My site was also a bit hilly and took a while to find a reasonably flat tent site. Water required a drive to the pump near site 18

Quiet in mid August

My camp site had a nice tent pad. It was warm under the picnic shelter while cooking and eating supper Had a nice dry and somewhat cool night of sleep.

Water was available in the camp area. There were Porta-potties in the camp area and a full bathroom with shower within 1/2 mile

Great place to tent camp

Everything is in working order. Not every site works for hammock camping, as some lack trees the required distance apart.

Men's restroom was decently clean, shower worked well. If you want a spotless bathroom, hike over to the underused day use area.

At this point, you must have a reservation to camp here.
