This is probably my favorite beach campground yet! Being on the Military base reduces the number of people trying to get to it. The beach is on the base, and has a protected wetland and then shooting range on one side then on the other is the base itself, so this beach is really JUST for those staying on the base or campground. The weather was a little cooler than expected, but we had a blast! We watch seals, ducks and more swimming around the beach. We practically had it all to ourselves. It was quiet and well maintained. I heard they are shutting down for a year or two for a major campground upgrade.
This campground was a great find. Pleasant hosts, check in was easy despite the late arrival. Sites were well maintained and easy to navigate in and out. The sewer is not at the site but you can dump on your way out. We went over Thanksgiving so it was a long line to dump on departure. The weather was perfect, campground was quiet and stars were bright. I would definitely go back. Only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that they had some issues with toilets overflowing (clogging) and cold showers (and they weren't even close to full, maybe half full?).
Great beach campground. We had all the connections, though this is definitely beach camping. Sites are nothing fancy, bath house is pretty much open air so sand everywhere and steel toilets with outdoor showers. Lots of people while we were there but it was still a good location and good stay.
