Wonderful place!

We spent a weekend tent camping here and I can't wait to go back when it gets warmer and this time bring the Turtle.  The campground is meticulously maintained, facilities are super clean, there is a dishwashing station, and a super cute store.  The two guys who run the place are super friendly, drive around delivering ice and firewood, and are so welcoming.  There is a creek that is fun for kids to play in and a large field to go explore and walk around in.  Beautiful location and close to Mt. Rainier NP.

Close to Canyonlands NP

This is a great campground close to Canyonlands and Arches National Park.  Sites are large and quite private.  Facilities are clean.  You have to get here early if you don't have reservations because the campground will fill up.  Wish we could have stayed a few more days.

So.Many.Bugs

The island is absolutely beautiful, the bison amazing and we looked at two campgrounds that were both in great locations, with great spots.  Unfortunately all that beauty can't distract you from the thousands of bugs that are determined to eat you alive.  We had already set up camp, sprayed bug spray and brought out all our anti-bug measures, but none of it worked.  We had to break down camp and leave.  Driving off the island, it sounded like rain, but it was in fact bugs hitting the windshield and front of the car.  I would not come back to camp here, but it's worth a day trip.

Nice campground

Stayed here in October for one night.  The altitude can definitely be a challenge when you're not used to it.  Campsites are big, but not too private.  Restrooms were clean and the camp hosts were nice and helpful.

Quiet, great little beach close by

Spent a weekend here in October. Campground is wooded and quiet, spots are nice and private.  Penrose Point Park nearby has a great beach and a fun interpretive trail to do with kids.  Facilities were clean.
