Easy to get to

Right outside moab. Lots of free camping spots and porta pottys available for usage which is awesome. Right off the highway but still felt in the desert and had a great sleep for being so close to the interstate. Fire pits available to use as well. Only downside is strangers can pull up alongside pretty close to you in middle of night because sites are close together.

Very peaceful

Had the whole campground to ourselves. It is free to stay here after September 15th. We camped the 1st of October. Just a quick pit stop. Was a little hesitant at first because it seemed so far from the highway but it was so worth it! There are bathrooms as well but bring your own TP as this time of year I dont believe anyone comes to check on them. Also, no more running water either. However, the creek is lovely and we were able to have a fire and every site had a picnic table. Very pleasant experience.

Haw creek falls campground

An amazing awesome place just inside the southern hemisphere of the ozarks. There is a beautiful campground, first come first serve, only 10 sites available. It is right on the creek/waterfall. Epic swimming hole as well. You need to pack in and pack out as there are no trash cans or anything, or drinking water, but there are vault toilets. Some really awesome hiking trails around too.

Great Quick Pit Stop/animal friendly

We drove 6 hours and wanted to keep going but honestly I am so grateful we pulled off to this spot. It is off the 40, but it’s actually really peaceful and there are trees, a big grassy field, and a park. Also it has clean restrooms, no showers and a place to throw out trash. I have a cat too so I parked by the baseball field and had the whole field to ourselves, which my cat really enjoyed wondering around the old abandoned homes lol Anyway, great spot for a quickie, feels like your still in nature. And it is definitely animal friendly.
