Good enough in a pinch

Needed a place to stay- no one here on a Saturday night in late August. Good wind so likely kept bugs away. Went to second set of campsites at end of road— right on top of road and each other. If busy, would be in each other’s sites. Very narrow. No privacy.

Nice forested campground

Nestled in the dells, this campground is really big, but generally you’re far enough from your neighbors. Nice sites and plenty of trails and water to explore.

Cool classic town campground

We’re from out west where you can typically find BLM or national forest land anytime. For our trip east we needed to plan. This is a cool, small town campground. Nothing fancy but quiet and safe. Kids rode bikes and watched the granary next door. Thanks to Dave, the campground host. Information on the web at http://montrose.users.goldenwest.net/tourism_8.html
