Wow!!! Another COE campground doesn’t disappoint

Petersburg Campground is beautiful. The sites are large and very private and most are on the water. We had Site 60 that had western views along the J Strom Thurmond Lake. The site was very level and was a pull through with a gravel base. The site also has a picnic table and fire ring, water and 59amp electric. The comfort stations were old but that’s ok because everything else made of for that. And all for $28 per night! Highly recommend.

Great park!

Stayed in Site 212 which had FHU and close to the comfort station. All in all the sit was great. Level gravel ground, good water pressure, steady electrical (50A). The walk to the beach is about 1/4 mile. Lots of shade. My only complaint (if yuo call it a complaint) is the picnic table needs to be replaced. It has seen better days and could use a new one. The site was faily big with enough privacy that you didnt feel like you were on top of each other. Bathrooms were clean. Would definitely stay here again!

Outstanding!!

Super clean, sites are spacious and all with outstanding views. Very impressed with this park. The park does not allow you to come early to check in and that’s because they clean the sites, rack the gravel and make sure everything is pristine for your stay. Everything was outstanding. The showers were clean, the water was good and electric was stable. Each site had a fire pit and picnic table.

As others have said, it’s a dart sky park so the stars are popping out of the sky.

There are bumper outs hikes to enjoy the scenery. All levels of exertion. I highly recommend this gem of a park.

Convenient

Stayed here for 9 days to visit family in the area. The location was convenient for family but not really in the greatest area. The park is off I-10 and you can hear the road noise. The sites are very close together with no privacy. And no picnic table or anything.

The good is the showers and laundry room. I would only stay here again if I had a site away from the highway.

Great stop!!

We stopped here for the night in our way west and really enjoyed the sites. The Sandhills are right outside your site. The sunset was gorgeous. I only wish the weather was warmer and less windy. Site 9 was nice - pull through. The sites were fairly close but not too bad. Water and electric were fine.

Outstanding

Love love love this place. We had site 38 and loved it. The sites were separated with enough space that you didnt feel on top of each other. Power was steady, water had great pressure. The only issue was the weather. We hunkered down for 2 days during and ice storm. Wow! The showers were clean and the laundry I room was spotless. A definite return stop on our list.

Great stop!

Tom Sawyer did not disappoint. While the drive to the RV park is a little sketchy, once you get in it’s a great little park. We stayed along the Mississippi River and really enjoyed watching the barges go by. Power was stable. Water had good pressure. Cell signal (Verizon) was good but the wifi was slow as on all parks. They bathrooms/showers were clean and get this….free laundry!! Enjoyed our one night stay.
