Free Campsites

My expectation was dispersal camping but it’s more like a planned campsite for free, first come but plenty of other dispersal camping in the area so if you don’t get a spot you will have a easy time finding another location. The creek is gorgeous but the flow was extremely fast and very loud. I opted for a campsite further from the creek and it was still loud at night. There was a large amount of RV’s camping in the area, for the most part they were respectful about not running their generators constantly, just be aware that you can be close to one another if you choose to camp right next to the creek. There is several toilets, one near the campsites and one near the day use only sites. There is fire pits available but still need to check if fires are permitted during the time you camp. Wonderful little free campground, I’m definitely coming back again.

Anderson Meadow Camp Grounds

Lovely camp grounds, there is no trash bins but there is a large one on your way out of the area, so pack it out. It does get booked up, so book early with the reservations. Definitely recommend the drive up to camp. Short distance from Kent Lakes.

Dispersed Camping

Took the travel trailer up Carpenter Canyon on a whim, since we did have a trailer with us we couldn’t get all the way to the stream. Ended up pulling off the side of the road, very secluded with a lovely view. It was cold though, thankfully we were prepared in the trailer.

Frandy Camp Grounds

I go camp at Frandy campgrounds once a year in October. It’s a wonderful camp ground, very large and well maintained. Some sites are appropriate for RV with electrical hook ups. I always camp near the river, there are plenty of walk ways to get down there to relax. It’s enjoyable to be able to walk into town to have a drink or enjoy a bite to eat if you don’t want to cook at your campsite. I love this camp ground, it’s a great spot for the family. You can even rent a covered wagon to stay the night if you don’t want to tent camp.

Palm Creek Camping

Great camping spot if you are looking to enjoy a little swimming in a hot spring creek also. They have tent sites and RV sites. This is a family friendly location. I came to camp with a group that reserved the whole tent camping area so I don’t know how it’s divided normally but I can say, they went above and beyond for our group and I would definitely return again.

Disburse Camping

You can either hike in or boat in to get to this location. We kayak in to set up camp for the night. There is a rustic toilet you can use, no water available other than the river. Our camp site was away from the masses, we took our camping gear further away from the crowded main camping area. It was worth the little hike away to be camping alone.

Boulder Beach Campground

It’s a very large campground with a good amount of trees in some locations. There are plenty of bathrooms and places to get water, no showers though. Lots of places for RV’s to park, so keep this in mind when tent camping, there is a lot of people RV camping right next to you. I enjoyed the convenience of the location but it was not a quiet camp ground.

White Bridge campground

It’s a wonderful campground near Panguitch Lake. Our site had the river behind us. We had plenty of shade near us and the campsite was nicely maintained. The camp ground hosts was extremely nice, they made my camping experience extra special. Will definitely be looking to return back as often as I can. A couple of sites you can reserve, otherwise it’s first come.

Manzanita Campground

Wonderful camping location, it’s not large but I enjoy that the camp ground wasn’t over crowded. The river ran behind our campsite. Our site was only able to fit a smaller size tent, large tents would be difficult. It’s right off of the main road, I didn’t hear a lot of road noise where my campsite was located near the river.

C C Springs Group Camping - Lovell Canyon

First time going and will definitely return. You will need a vehicle that can handle a bumpy road if you want to travel further down to find a nice spot. There was plenty of spots for us to choose, zero neighbors around us camping. I was disappointed with the amount of trash left behind and the broken glass. We took out as much trash as we could but the broken glass was difficult to take all out. Bring a tarp to put under your tent to protect the bottom. There is no bathrooms or water so come prepared and please pack out your toilet paper and bury your waste.
