Big, nice campground.

Nice, big park with lots of sites for all campers and tent needs. nice shower houses. close to the river for canoeing, tubing and wading. Lots of cottonwood trees so be ready for them dropping ”cotton” all over. Some sites are close and others a little roomier. We’ll be back.

Very nice park!

Great sites available. We enjoyed Raccoon Ridge at Truman State Park this weekend. Nice dump stations and fresh water. Enjoyed the beach. There are two to choose from. Check in took all of 5 minutes with a reservation. Lots of sites available if you didn’t have a reservation. Camp host drove by regularly. Neighbors friendly. They were a little close at this particular site. Site 28. Not a big deal. We both respected our each other’s space. Other sites are available where you’re not so close. Hot but nice weekend.

Peaceful campground

Stayed at Racoon Ridge campground in the Harry S. Truman State Park. Nice park. Pretty quiet. Has a decent beach. Shady spots with or without water and electric. Tent sites and basic sites available.

Nice secluded spots

Two parks in one. The Hermitage and The Pittsburgh. We chose the 400 loop of Pittsburgh for its secluded spots. Spaces are not stacked on top of each other. You’re in the woods so take bug spray. Level paved lots to choose from. Fire rings and covered picnic tables. Lots of shade.
