Not dispersed camping

This spot is national forest, and overnight camping is not allowed. We had a knock from someone with the forest service the next morning who was very kind and let us know that overnight is not allowed.

Look up lakes and forest in this area on google — not many places allow dispersed camping

4wd required to get to the views

Lots of small pullouts on the way up but they were all taken. None of those would work for Starlink.

We went as far as we could in our Ram Promaster till there was a crazy steep and washed out climb. Had to turn around

Not great for starlink

Full time van lifers who work remote. Very dense in a valley spot, starlink would not work great for a work day. So many bugs when we arrived at night.

Wouldn’t dare try going down the steep rough dirt road knowing internet wouldn’t be great.

Wildlife but super dusty!

Starlink internet here was great and we stayed 2 days to work here. Saw multiple deer walking by our site.

Easy to drag in dust and very annoying. We easily found a spot for our van.

Guy just sitting in trees near the end

All the spots at the front were taken here so we had to drive almost all the way to end. Don’t go down the final steep hill, you might not make it up. It’s very tight there and you have to do a 20 point turn to turn back.

We walked down the hill and our friend saw some random guy come out the trees and follow us as we were walking back up. He might be living there because there was so much trash

2 stars because the area itself is nice, there’s the river nearby and internet was good

No camping allowed!

This is just a parking lot to hike to the spring. From here we went to keysville to spend the night

Most amazing spot!

Absolutely love this spot! Very cool rock formations all around you. Nice short trail nearby that takes you by a stream.

Nearby to lone pine where I had one of the best patty melts ever. And internet is great if you need to work.

Keep an eye out for the 4x4 roads as the other spots get filled up. Don’t go in summer with pets unless you have an AC

Base camp close to Joshua Tree

We stayed here for 2 nights and worked from here with our starlink. Great internet - we had 2 people doing video calls.

Each site is pretty large and can fit at least 3 vans but they’re only about 100 ft off the dirt road.

Plenty of spots (few for starlink)

Plenty of spots either in this area or the one down the road. If you work remote keep searching and you’ll find a spot where starlink isn’t blocked by trees.

10 minutes from town. About 25 minutes the famous mobil gas station. They sure did treat us good. Expensive gas but 2 water spigots, easy to access bathrooms and delicious meatloaf

Careful with maps

Great spot by a river. Refreshing water not too cold, deep enough to float.

Starlink internet is spotty here but you should be good if you park further away from the river.

Be careful with maps! This listing has the wrong pin on the map. If you use coordinates and google maps it will get you to the right side. If you come across a road with a dead end sign, you’re on the wrong side of the river.
