We stayed in the new glamping cabin #2. Very clean, comfortable bed, nice AC, lovely porch to relax on. All cabins are in walking distance to the bathrooms and showers. Those as well were pretty clean for a camp ground, I was pleasantly surprised. The path to the bathrooms light up at night so you can find your way very easy in the dark. Camp ground itself was very clean and I often saw the staff working on cleaning it and interacting with the campers. The designated swimming area was like a piece of heaven. Small not to overly packed, very clean beach. We plan on coming pack to do tent camping with our dog, fantastic family or romantic couple retreat.
Upon arrival or site was very well situated on the top of the mountain overlooking the river. Fantastic view. Our camp site was number 54. Picnic table, round fire pit and tall pole with two hooks to hang lantern and or other items like trash. Our site was extremely clean and in fact the entire camp area was clean and very well kept. The sweet gum trail is a lovely quiet and easy trail, very relaxing. I can see why this place has such great reviews, everything you want in a camp site. We camped in late October so the temp was mild to chilly during the day, got a little cold at night with a low of 48, not too bad but our particular spot was on a hill and the winds caught us often so that made for the temperatures feeling colder. If you forgot to pack something there is a easy drive to a Walmart or a Publix. We did not have any neighbors so that made for an even more relaxing and quiet trip. The actual camp sites are a bit close together but I dont really see that as too big of an issue. The people that did camp a few spots down from us were quiet and everyone seemed respectful of others. The comfort stations are clean and also well maintained. I was impressed with the entire site.
