We were passing through and were looking for a spot for the night and pulled in here to check it out. The manager said the park is normally at capacity with long termers but was able to give us a spot for the night. It was OK.

This place is a hidden treasure. Located at about 6500 feet elevation on the eastern slope of the Sacramento Mountains this campground is a perfect launching pad for daytrips to many local attractions. The Rio Penasco River runs right through the park and offers the opportunity to catch a trout or 2. Local Mule deer and turkeys are no strangers here and visit frequently. The WiFi is good but cell signal is hard to come by. There is a nice Cafe in Mayhill, as well as a convenience store and gas station about 2 blocks from the campground. The campground is open year round and caters to hunters in the Fall. The campground is family friendly and offers live music at times during the summer months. The managers Bennie and Yolanda are top notch and always at your service. That being said my wife and I came here last November and have been here ever since as Camp Hosts. We just love it here.

I would recommend this park highly. We booked 9 days here and will be heading out tomorrow morning. Nicely wooded with a good mix of sun and shade. Park is well maintained and sites are spacious and spread out nicely. It gets very busy on the weekends and most sites are occupied. Swimming beach looked nice but to cold for me to try out. Lots of boat traffic at the landing on weekends. Whitney is a short drive away and offers most anything you may need. Our Verizon service was spotty at best but not totally unusable. We were able to connect to internet with our ATT Hotspot though.

We spent a week here on our way out west. Nothing fancy but decent. Sites were pretty level but some were kind of cramped. Wifi and cable were adequate and it was relatively quiet for the time we spent here. Both ATT and Verizon signals were good here.

Spent 2 nights here while passing through on our way to Mississippi. We had full hook ups on a pretty level pull through site. Wifi and cable was good and we had decent Verizon service. Although our spot didn't have leveling challenges, I noticed some did. One class C I saw had his front wheels 6 inches off the ground. The people in the office were friendly and accommodating.

New to fulltime rv life we chose to spend a week at this quiet off the beaten path campground on our way west . This place offers nice concrete pads with full hookups that are relatively level. Water level in Enid Lake was very low so the swimming beach was closed. That was kind of a bummer because Temps were in the 80's. Our Verizon signal was strong enough to browse and stream with no issues but the over the air TV channels were non existent. The nearest town of any size is Batesville about 30 miles north if you need a Walmart. The price is right at 20 bucks a night and we don't regret stopping over here one bit.
