Secluded and away from all the noise

If you're looking to get away from all the "noise" of the side of the island that Acadia National Park is on, this is your spot. It's still only 25 minutes or so to Acadia National Park but is extremely quiet and secluded. The campsites are a little close together but there is still privacy. The other benefit was it is away from Bar Harbor lights so we saw soo many stars!

Fun and somewhat secluded spot-highly recommend

This campground secluded and incredibly quiet. We stayed there with three families with children and the campsites are far enough away from each other that kiddos crying in one campsite were barely heard in the other. The other plus was that this campsite allowed dogs which truly made it a family affair.

The place is very clean and well kept. It also has a little trail that leads to the river which was a fun spot to hang out. It's also located near Mt. Washington and Mt. Willard. Mt Willard is a great and moderate hike with amazing views.

Incredible location to a variety of hikes.

If you're looking for easy to strenuous hikes that can be accessed from one place, this is the spot! You can access at least 6 of the NH48 from this campground, numerous waterfalls, two AMC huts, and several ponds and lakes all within hiking distance.

The only downside is that it is right next to I-93 which certainly echoes. The traffic noise was a little distracting and took away from the peacefulness of being outside but again, once you get on your hike, you can't hear it at all.

I'll also say that the camp store is stocked very well and the Rangers are knowledgeable, accommodating, and pleasant!
