Great large sectioned campsites with beautiful tree coverage. The campsite are spaced far enough away from each other that you nearly feel alone they have great pads for putting up the tent. Bathrooms are clean and easily accessible around the campground. The sound of running water from the river can be heard throughout the campground. This campground is centrally located to great hikes Laurel Falls, Charlie’s Bunion. It is a easy drive into Gatlinburg and the visitors center.
You are able to drive down the beach to find your perfect spot to set up your tents by the dunes! Very clean chemical toilets are near the beach entrance and very clean showers are up at the visitors center. During the day you will have day visitors set up near you but not on top of you but at night it was like we were the only people on the beach! Dig a hole and you can have a fire right on the beach it is absolute heaven!
We camped at tent site 12. We had stunning views with some shade. The National Park staff was very informative and interactive they patrol the area frequently. They have the cleanest chemical toilets I have ever seen. Trails are beautiful and well marked. I absolutely would recommend this park to any and everyone.
This is an extremely well maintained TX State Park. They have walk in tent sights near the water with great views and chemical toilet within a reasonable distance . Lake Ray Roberts offers clean water fun with less motorized boat and jet ski activity then other lakes in the area. This is a great place for kayaking and trail hiking they also have a designated beach area for day trippers . Park staff is helpful and well versed on their state park.
