Tentrr site saves the day

We booked a last minute stay in a Tentrr canvas tent. It came with a portable toilet, chairs, mattress and bed frame. We were thankful to have booked it due to the torrential downpour all night. We stayed in Riverview sites and were right on the river. Gorgeous view and glamorous site. You do have to carry your gear about 25ish yards down a bit of an incline.

Great spot close to Sioux Falls

We enjoyed our stay in site 10. It was a large site, though on a busy weekend the proximity of 7, 8 and 9 would be bothersome. They have RV/Camper sites, tent only and adorable camper cabins. We were very happy to stay somewhere without a fire ban. The park is also close to Split Rock Park and Devils Gulch. There is plenty of hiking and it is only about 30 min from Sioux Falls. Overall, after looking around, I think 20 would have been the best tent site.

Beautiful Spot for Fall Color Change

We went up in Mid-sept with our dogs to photograph fall color change and were not disappointed. There is a short trail around the reservoir and we even got pictures of a couple beavers. The campground itself is decent and I've never seen it crowded. Road is impassable in winter.

Great Location

We arrived on a Tuesday in September to find only 3 other sites occupied in the whole campground. The campsites were all well maintained and several had great views of Canon City. Royal Gorge is o ly a 7 min drive, and Canon City was 15. Pit toilets were pretty standard, and a camp host was available if needed. I will say that at $20 it was a little steep, $15 would probably be more appropriate pricing, but overall it was nice and relaxing
