We stayed here for four nights the weekend prior to July 4th weekend. Our expectations were that it would be full and would be a bit difficult to find a site as it is first come, but we were wrong. When we arrived on Thursday morning the campground was almost completely empty. We easily found a great site that gave a view of Redfish Lake and the long stretch of lodgepoles behind us. Sockeye Campground was below us on the lake but you won’t even know from our site. The vault toilets were clean and maintained. There was a campground host on site who were friendly and provide firewood for $7 a bundle which was significantly better than in town at the Stanley market. There are several trailheads that are an easy walk through woods to find in Sockeye and trails that go around the lake with beautiful views. We will definitely be returning for another long weekend.
This campground sits above CR and is beautiful! It is super quite, has wonderful views, and is a bit cooler due to the elevation climb from CR. Stayed for only one night but will definitely come back for a longer visit.
Stayed here a few nights and it was unbelievably loud.. Tons of road noise from the highway and an early train comes through every morning. Nothing worth seeing here. If you have a boat it may be fun but not for just camping.
This is an ok campground on the east side of Zion’s. We stayed here for three nights while visiting the park. It is quiet but a bit of a drive to the many road to take the buses into the park. The facility was clean but needs updating and some maintenance. They are some beautiful new cabins so hopefully they will update the facilities soon too.
This is a small campground with limited facilities however the bathrooms and showers are clean. The water and electric (30 or 50 amp) work just fine. There is a dump station on site and a host that is helpful. All and all, great stop over instead of in town or off the highway. It is a bit of a drive out of the way but worth if if you like being in farmland with roving livestock near by.
