Excellent park, great hike to falls
Great trip over Christmas. Sites and clean and well maintained. Book way in advance.
I found it to be fantastic, it was close to trail and well maintained. Please note this is a boon-docking site, and limit on generator use. It is right next where trail starts for Guadalupe Peek. When I visited the winds were exceptionally high. One day gusts got to near 75mph. Winds were coming out of NW and that is the direction the rv spots faced. I did bring my slide in for peace of mind. Be sure to look at wind forecast before you travel
This was a fantastic state park, very well planned. This is definitely a park if you have kids. There are plenty miles of paved bike trails. We did arrive after a bit of rain and the mosquitos were crazy bad. We enjoyed the nature trails and bike paths
The road getting there is long and worth the trip. Campsites are a bit smaller than advertised. Ours Site 25 was a tight fit for our 28ft trailer and F 250. Loved hiking, remember it is a rainforest so be ready for rain and mud on the trains. Overall great time.
I like trains as much as the next person, yet trains run by at night every 20 to 30 minutes and sound their horns. There is road noise which is easily heard from campsites.
The host during our stay is rather abrupt and not real friendly.
The grounds are well maintained and there was normal noise level with other guest.
Although our site 37 on river noted it could take our 28ft trailer, our tow vehicle f250, barely fit. The host said if I could not move it and stay off grass, i would have to go to overflow, which is outside the gate to property, basically on a gravel road which is not secure.
