The tall pines provided ample shade from the hot August sun. The sight was very clean and accessible. We went to the rodeo and had a great time visiting.

This is a fee based campground with a host that offers a first come first serve camping experience. We got in late in the day and were happy to find a spot. The ground was a bit limited for tent camping but we ended with a great location near moving water. The sound of water created a very serene environment for rest. The real treat came when we saw the beauty of the night sky unencumbered by city lights; the Milky Way was on full display.

We loved everything about Grandjean campground. After a 20 minute drive on a narrow dirt road we discovered the best site. Nestled between a mountain stream and the Payette river the sounds of moving water drowned out all else. The Sawtooth lodge is nearby, but the best is the proximity to several hot springs. Move the rocks to control the water flow (and temp) and you will be treated to a true joy of nature.

This campground is unbelievable. It’s a few blocks from downtown with showers. It was $25 night for tenting. Most campsites had fire rings and picnic tables. Very busy - but super friendly and safe. Drove about 15 min to Deadwood and about an hour to Mt Rushmore. I will come back.

A few miles off of the highway and you will find this nice camping area along the Yellowstone River. Very windy the day we were there, but the campsites were nice with fire rings and the scenery was exceptional. This is close to Pompey’s Pillar(which is currently closed for repair), and the Little Bighorn battlefield. Also not far from Billings.

Nice camping close to Bozeman - which is home to Montana State and a couple good microbreweries. Really liked this campground - but didn’t get enough sleep. Tent camping is nice here, some trees for wind cover and flat ground with picnic benches. But the trains roll through the entire evening, with horns sounding their arrival. Made it pretty tough to sleep. Nice amenities with a pool, showers, water, etc.

Dispersed campground right on the Flathead river. Great to hear the river at night. Only downsides are it’s a busy boat launch with people coming all day long and it can get loud on the weekends. Free camping with 3 day max stay. The road will likely cause need for a front end alignment as you drive from Columbia Falls. About another 10 miles (of terrible roads) on North Fork road and you are at the west entrance to Glacier and close to Apgar / Lake McDonald. We stayed for 3 days and loved it. Nature at its best.

This campground has it all. Lots of fun for the kids with mini golf, bikes, paddle boats, and arcade games. Lots of spaces. Free breakfast in the morning was a great touch. We were able to get laundry done and take a shower before heading to Glacier.

Great location and beautiful campsites. Excellent hiking and scenery. We had our tent in the trees with a 100 yard walk out to Patrick’s point and the Pacific Ocean. Close to Agate beach for stunning views.

Large campground with great amenities. Good pizza and friendly folks. Close to shoreline fishing. We saw a herd of elk just outside of campgrounds. Great starting off point for exploring the area.

Nice campground just a few miles outside of Jackson. Easy to get to Tetons and Yellowstone. Roads are rough and have steep uphill grade - but the views make the trek worthwhile.

This campsite was great. Bear boxes and fire rings with access to a great swimming hole. We were also located across the 101 from the Peg House which is worth the stop.

The Red Fleet rock formation is spectacular and this lake is a hidden gem. Good for kayaking or boating. We did see a few kids do some cliff diving - but passed on the opportunity. Campground was clean with a nice fish cleaning station. Great place to watch the Perseid meteor shower.

This is the best campground. Stunning sights. Beautiful hiking trails. And friendly park service and staff.

Dusty gravel roads lead you down to the middle of cornfield Iowa. Nice, quiet little park with 3 spots next to a creek. Quiet (unless the camper next to you is snoring). Outhouse wasn’t too scary.

CDA (Camp Couer d’Alene) is really pretty awesome. After a few nights at more rugged campgrounds - this place was great. Friendly staff and a few spots to choose from prior to the holiday weekend were a bonus. $41.04 for a tent spot isn’t cheap; but lots of amenities: free canoe use, free firewood, hot showers, and some common areas (not real common due to Covid) including a small pool.

This campground is hard to find as it is located through the off ramp rest area - but worth the find. There are trains on one side and the freeway on the other - but lots of spots and beautiful views of the river.

Great little campsite near the petrified forest. Windy the day we were there - but beautiful location near river. We had a large herd of bighorn sheep as pre dusk visitors which was great to admire. Camp was clean with tidy restrooms. Only downsides were occasional noise from I-90 and some late night traffic / campers pulling into area after midnight. For $10- a great place.
