I reserved a site for my rooftop tent but discovered on arrival that the parking spot looped next to the site rather than backing in. Fortunately the campground was fairly empty (June 14, 2018), and the camp host let me switch to a more car-camp-accommodating site. Flush toilets were a treat. Lovely site, lots of big shady trees.
I loved this campground. Most sites are on the river, which provides perfect noise-cancellation acoustics. A sweet trail at the far end of the loop takes you under the road and through a forest along the river. Cell service is spotty but who cares when you’re somewhere so beautiful.
I stayed here in late May, 2018. Although I made a reservation, most sites were unoccupied. Sites are spacious and spaced well apart, some along the lake’s edge. A breeze kicked up but not too fierce. If you are looking to get away and relax without much to do, this campground is a great option.
Sites are tucked along a hillside, most look out over the lake. An easy walk down to the pebbly beach and boat ramp. We saw the most amazing sunset. Bathrooms are clean but may run out of toilet paper—plan to bring a spare roll just in case.
