I grew up in the north woods of Minnesota. Camping, backpacking, and canoeing are who I am and what I do! Advocate of Save the Boundary Waters.

Awesome!

The walk to devil's kettle is pretty nice. Long trail, lots of beautiful scenery to see on the way. I liked sitting by the lake at night (a theme in my reviews).

Beautiful

Not the same as the BWCA but not bad at All! Gorgeous lakes and campsites, great for a weekend getaway.

Remote, scenic, relaxing

Situated by a lake and awesome regional trails, McCarthy Beach is a great weekend trip. Lots of great wildlife and the lake is beautiful to sit and chill by on any evening. I loved it - quiet campsites and peaceful region.

Cascade is my #1 for life

I've been going to cascade since the very first time I ever went camping, which was at cascade. It's the perfect campground. Trails, the lake, 10mn from Grand Marais (world's best donuts!), great hiking, everything rocks. I'd move there if I could.

Buggy, beautiful, breezy beach.

Man, was it ever hot, but the campsite was absolutely gorgeous. Backpacking site #3 is situated privately and perfectly on the shore. Watch out for bugs! This campsite is a great water source and the lake shore is awesome for sitting and chilling after a day of hiking in the heat.

Temperance is beautiful, serene, and clean

I've been to Temperence River State Park several times and every time is a cherished memory. Whether it's with my family, firneds, or partner, it's always fun and I find the rangers very helpful and kind. The neighbours are quiet, and the sound of the river in the background makes for a lovely campfire soundtrack.
