Best private place on the lake

This site is one of the best sites if you want a bit of privacy. As with the rest of the Georgetown Lake sites, there are a number of people, but you have many options to try and limit contact.

Beautiful and adequate

For what you pay, this is not a bad site. The tent lawn is incredibly well shaded, with many small trees covering almost every inch in shade. This alone makes this site the best rv tent site I've ever stayed at. There is also a comunal propane grill for meals in you provide the propane. Now the cons. You are adjacent to the interstate, so you have a lot of noise. Bathroom facilities are okay, not stellar, just okay. The urinal was out of order during my stay, and the showers could use more pressure. Walls also need cleaned. The bugs were bad, but there is nothing the park can do to fix that.

Cool and clean

I was in the upper campground, and it was done professionally and well set up. The area I was will not easily accommodate tents, though it can be done. The roads were adequate but I would not explore the roads more without a high clearance vehicle.

Nice dispersed campground

People on here are concerned with the No Camping signs. You need to keep driving on that road to get out of the "no camping" zone. They are doing reclamation in the area right off the highway. The camp sites are rather small, only acceptable to small moterhomes, small trailers or tents.

Adequate

This campsite has great potential, beautiful site in the middle of ag land. The bathrooms are in poor shape, and despite the no smoking signs, they smell like the living room of a pack-a-day smoker. Dogs are required to be leashed at all time, but this is because of the cats. At one time I counted 8 separate cats wandering around all the lots. I showed up late at night and registration was easy

Fine for its need

It was a fine camp site, but the interstate is a stones throw from the site. If you are a heavy sleeper you'll have no problem.
