This campground has bathrooms and plenty of space. It is a very open campsite, so you see clearly into other campers' campgrounds. It is very conveniently located, near the PCT and near Devil's Postpile. Great hiking from this location!
Henry Coe is a completely underrated state park. There are ample opoprtunities for backpacking and bikepacking. The lakes throughout the park are beautiful to camp by and there are facilities (toilets) at different locations throughout the park. Most water can be filtered from the lakes. It is really hot in the summer and plenty of poison oak. There is also a lake of shade in many locations! Overall, great many places to explore and fun to visit and backpack through.
The campsite we stayed in was a little bit of a walk in (could not drive to it) but it was beautiful with just a short walk to the crag. Natural and quiet, even though 50 is not far away!
thThis campground is nice and close to Lake Tahoe and Tahoe City. The campground hosts this summer were very helpful, with firewood for sale. Some of the sites seem to sit right in the neghbors backyards, though!
