Beautiful Views, Quiet Solitude

Traveling down Black Mountain road for about 2miles of wash boards before turning down the camping road.

All the sites were empty as it was almost 100degrees outside and nothing for shade of a creature larger than a bird could find. But here we found quiet solitude and a cooler evening, perhaps the winds helped.

If you have furry friends keep a watch for their paws, there’s small cacti/pokeys scattered about.

Lovely sunrise and sunset 360 views.

Good Verizon service!

Beautiful views but ugh, the people

Found the perfect spot empty with one fire ring… on a Thursday, drove past open sites to one against the canyon, parked early around 2pm— only to look out around 7pm to see not one but two separate vehicles setup and people just STANDING literally right outside our camp window. Seriously people… give some space!! They were walking around our vehicle within 5 feet on the side that is not connected to their site at all but completely in our personal space. Seriously doubt they would appreciate people to hover around their camp like that, be respectful people.

There are so many other spots that were ALL open. Even posted photos of some of the empty sites available! After a day of dealing with the crowds of Zion we were ready for some private tranquility, at least they were quiet.

Next morning: Awake to take photos of the sunrise and greeted by someone going to defecate in the hills. (said nothing to me but had a roll of tp)

Other than the neighbors not respecting personal space, this site was beautiful. You could still hear a low hum of the hi-way. Great phone service.

Only one site

Single site by running water, fire ring and beautiful views! It is directly off the road (but it was pretty quiet) and there’s a large red ant hill right next to the fire pit.

Forest Camping with Fire Ring

Primitive camping at designated sights, lots to choose from, came in on a Saturday and went for the third site we came across open, most were full for memorial weekend. But we still found a delightfully private spot where you see no one from any side, just a little close to the road.

Great location, quiet, semi private

The site we camped had a private walk to the little creek, fire ring and picnic table. Well built bathrooms and a garbage dump available for use. $5 for all you can carry in your arms in fire wood… felt private without anyone parked on either side but later people came and the noise went up a little, but overall cute camp. Got one of the first come first serve sites, payment in cash only $20 for the night (established site, no water, no electric, no sewer) Pets allowed-leashed.

Great View

Great overlook, sunrise will be fire.
