McCormick Campground

Very nice campground. Well kept and very clean. They also have showers. The camp host was very nice and helpful. It offers both sites with hookups and tent sites as well.

Awesome views

Beautiful spot, campground was clean and the views are beautiful. The men’s pit toilet was in bad shape and not clean and did not have a toilet seat. Everyone there used the women’s side. Also, the flys were outrageous though throughout the whole campground

Nice surprise

After traveling 80 miles of flat dirt, sage and 95 degrees through southern Wyoming this was an amazing surprise. Nestled in a beautiful canyon with great views. It has six sites most have tent pads. The first two offer little shade and are close to the road. We found the bathrooms to be very clean and for a free campsite it was well maintained and clean. We were fortunate enough to have it to ourselves. On those 90 degree days, the shade here is very welcome.

Very nice little campground

This is a great spot. Very well shaded and the camp sites are spacious. They weren’t as clean as we would like to see them though. We went through a couple of sites to clean up trash and fire pits. But that aside, it is a beautiful spot. We had six moose, one with a very tiny baby come through our site at night and in the morning and the site next to us to feed in the big meadow. At the time of this writing (6/29/23), there was still snow in a lot of places. The melting snow had a lot of the camp sites pretty wet.

Very nice

Very nice campground. As best I could tell, about 70 spots, but don’t quote me on that. All of the sites are very clean with picnic tables and fire pits. They do have pit toilets as well. Cost is $10 per night. The Laramie river runs right next to the campground and is nice to listen too.

Excellent Campground!

This is a very nice campsite. The campsite host was super nice and helpful and recommended the perfect campsite for us. The whole area was very clean as well as the toilets. The sites themselves are very spacious and well kept. For $6 a night it’s pretty impressive. Potable water is also readily available.

Incredible

Located right on the South Tongue River, the sites are very nice and the campground is clean. The setting for this campground is spectacular!! The sites closest to the river all have great tent platforms. The only complaint would be the noise from all of the ATV’s driving by on the main road.

Small but nice campground

Only has five sites, but all are really nice, spacious and clean. Pit toilets were surprisingly very clean and well kept. The sound of the river is very peaceful to listen to.

Beautiful area but the campground needs work

The 18 mile drive is bouncy and a bit rough in places but most people should not have a problem. The views are absolutely amazing, second to none! It’s hard to find a more picturesque place to be. I only rated a four because only one of the pit toilets was open, the one by us was locked up. The one that was open was not well taken care of and smelled bad. Overall though, yes this is a must do!!

Great Boondocking, very crowded

We love Vedauwoo, but it has become very crowded and more trashy with the increased use. We arrived on a Tuesday around 2:00PM and was very hard to find a spot. That being said, we did find site #7 and it was great. A bit close to the main road, but most of them are. Still love it though.

Very Nice Campground

Great spot, very clean all of the amenities that you need including potable water.

Incredible spot!

This is an absolutely amazing place! We were at the regular campsite, but they are very close together. Situated where the Green and Yampa rivers merge, you are surrounded by amazing cliffs with the main feature being Streamboat Rock. Campsites are very nice and clean. Several Vault toilets are available. Potable water is also available. Would recommend a high clearance vehicle to get into the canyon. In the summer months it does get very hot, so be prepared.

Nice campground for a night

The campground is nice and clean. Very nice tent pads. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table and potable water available with most sites.. There are nice bathrooms available along with showers. Nice bonus after three days of dispersed camping. The are no trees, so the wind can get whipping through pretty good. Great views of Glen Canyon. Not a lot of privacy, but if you are just stopping over for a night it’s fine.

Very nice and secluded

Very nice campground. We ended up here for one night and loved it. The sites were very nice, hosts were very friendly and everything very clean. Unfortunately there were some obnoxious campers with very noisy children, but that is no reflection on the campground, you will run into that anywhere. The host’s actually tried their best to move us away to a quieter spot. Loved watching the deer wandering around camp. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. The area is beautiful.

Nice but not exceptional

Very nice campground, easy drive in on well maintained dirt road. I believe it has 19 sites, we were the only ones there. Most people seem to just use the area for launching their boats and not staying. Very clean and nice campsites. The sites on the east side offer much more shade than the river side. Offers Pit toilets and potable water. We enjoyed our stay here and will come back.

Amazing!!

Absolutely beautiful spot! Beautiful drive to get there. If you take the Yampa Bench Road to get there, you will need 4WD. Expect a solid three hour drive with beautiful views. Going in on the Echo Park Road, it is much shorter, only 12 miles as opposed to 43 on Yampa Bench. The first couple of miles are a bit rough and steep but 4WD not needed although would at least recommend AWD. Once you reach the campground the setting is amazing with non stop views. It is $10 per night and worth every penny. It also has potable water located throughout the campground. Can’t wait to go back!!
