Beautiful Trailside Site

I did a quick overnight here, as is custom when I travel for work, and it was spectacular. I stayed at Trailside Camp Site #2, which is one of their remote, primitive sites at the North Lake and all I can say is wow. The views were spectacular, and watching the full moon come up over the mountain was something I will never forget.

The site itself was spartan, as is expected in a primitive site but it did have a fire ring and a picnic table. Site 2 is right on the lake, with plenty of dead wood to get a fire going. The hike in is about 2ish miles of moderately difficult trails, with some amazing views along the way, including a walk across the North Lake dam. The hike was well worth it though.

A Great Little Camp Site

This is such a little gem. I was in Anderson for work and found this place on Dyrt, so figured I'd stay there once while in town. It's located in the large backyard of a home, in a separate fenced in area from their actual backyard. It's cleared out, with a picnic table and fire pit, with plenty of room to drive your vehicle right up to the campsite. The area is backed by woods, with an extension cord available for power and a water hose if you need it.

The owners are super friendly and helpful, showing me around and making sure I knew where everything was, including the fire wood.

The one thing to note is that you can hear the interstate from the site, but these days it's hard to find a place with zero traffic noise. If I'm ever in Anderson again I'll make sure to stay here again.
