552 campground

Beautiful pine trees with no overgrowth. Well maintained with nove temperatures in May 48F-70F.

Expensive but needed

We had to pull in here unplanned due to a sandstorm. Many 18 wheelers had to pull over. This is a sandy place, zero grass. There are a few trees to block the winds, showers, fenced dog area, trash, and landrymat/lounge. Paid $43 with discount for Good Sams.

Good for a night

Good hiking trail but small parking lot. We were the only big rig but there 4 vans and a couple of cars overnight. No trash or water here

Great views

We found the place empty so we took a scenic corner. Big trash dumpster on the gravel.

My favorite

One of my favorite Texas state parks. Ve RT y nice campground on a lake. But do NOT miss the penitentary. Cliffs forming a prison below used during the civil war. Amazing rock structure with rock climbers.

Lots of Cedar

Beautiful state park with lake. Several walking trails around the lake and easy to get lost.
