The walk in sites here are pretty cool and great for an extended group that wants to camp together but have alot of space. All the walk in sites are separated from the rest of the campground. The river here is great for tubing. You do get some road noise at this campground. The sites are also very unevenly sized. We ended up with a sorta awkward tiny one that didn't have much privacy. Luckily everyone was pretty quiet during our few days here.
Beautiful campground without reservations so all spots are potentially available. You need to get here on a weekday pretty much. The river is pretty. The sites are pretty nice but the riverside ones are also on the very very popular trail that passes through the campground. We ended up with a large, flat site with a fire ring. There was no ATT service when I was here, but it is only a few minutes from the grocery store at Welches. The trail that passes through has beautiful old growth trees and is one of the easiest hikes to see old growth near Portland.
Choose your site carefully here. The interior sites lack privacy and are very exposed. There are some amazing water side sites however if you can nab one. There is a little store on site, great lake swimming, and nice bathrooms.
