Great off-grid camping

This campground was nice. The camp host really did a great job of keeping things clean and nice. Some shady spots and a really great seasonal creek.

Pros

  • Quiet location. No road noise
  • well-maintained sites
  • seasonal creek -- and a nice little hike up the creek
  • cool "ghost town" right outside the campground
  • friendly & helpful camp host

Cons

  • You have to pack in your water
  • several of the sites are pretty small
  • while there are some shady spots, there are a lot with no tree cover and it gets HOT.
Pretty, but not if you are trying for peace & quiet

This campground was pretty, but had some issues. If you are looking for a campground where you can sit and enjoy the quiet and nature, this isn't it. If you want a place to have a big group camp/party, then this would work

Pros:

  • Beautiful trees/shade

  • Decently sized sites and parking

  • Really cool aviary

  • Seaspnal creek

  • showers and flush toilets available

  • lots of accesible trash cans

Cons

  • there was a lot of trash on the ground around and in the sites

  • the limit of people/tents per site isn't enforced. There were sites with easily 15-20 people staying there

  • It is right next to the highway, so lots of road noise at night, and apparently in the early morning some locals seem to get a kick out of laying on their horns as they pass the campsite.

  • Quiet hours were also not enforced. Music blasting and loud partying until midnight +
