Cheap & close to town

We (family of 6) spent 4 nights here.

It's not too far from town and cheap ($6 a night per vehicle) It's was always windy, it broke our tent one night, the host seemed to ride by every 20 to 30 mins which made us a little uneasy and like we couldn't relax, the sites are REALLY weird and almost all of them you can't drive up to, you definitely can't have a camper here, there is no water, the vault toilets are pretty smelly and the fire pits are all very full.

The only thing we really enjoyed about our stay was seeing the wild horses 1-2x per day, we even woke to see them in our site one morning!

Beautiful & Quiet

We stayed for 4 nights. There were people in & out only staying a night or two. It is very quiet, the beach is nice (there are 2 gators that live on the other side of the lake), the bathrooms are clean, the shower was decent & the host was great! The sites are all HUGE (the outer ring is better than the inner), they are all close to the bathroom & more than enough privacy. You MUST reserve your site either online or by calling & the prices listed on the board are NOT correct. It is now $20 a night for non electric/water site and $30 for water/electric

Best little place

We pulled in not knowing what to expect. Being in a tent for a week they allowed us to set up wherever we wanted and accommodated us nicely. This campground is nothing fancy and mostly full timers, the bathhouses are well kept, except there is one shower for the entire campground (the women's was down) but we never ran into an issue with showering at the same time as anyone else so we didn't mind. You are directly next to The Shed BBQ, across from a gas store, within 10 minutes to a Wal-Mart and 15-20 minutes to Biloxi Beach. Connie and Lou were great and always on top of things when something needed to be done and the full timers here are so welcoming and help in any way they can. They made our family of 6 feel at home, we will definitely be back!

An amazing week!

We were a little uneasy at first because we usually do national forest camping, due to our amount of kids but they made us feel welcome from the time we rolled up. They placed us in the best basic site (B19) where we were up on the hill and had a 180⁰ view of the lake and were right across from the bathhouse. The store on site is incredibly cheap and reasonable, the bathhouses are clean and it was nice to have hot water showers. The elk & bison prairie was a great close by stop, I'd highly reccomend stopping in. We stayed for a week and will definitely be back on our way through.
