Clean and beautiful

Clean facilities throughout. Every one of the bathhouses restrooms were spotless every time I visited. Many spots are covered by the canopy of mature redwoods. If visiting the State and National parts it's a great spot near Eureka without having to go to town. There's a lot of roadwork right now so the trip to Crescent City was 1.25 hours… So going north to Jeddah Smith is definitely a day trip. Can be tight for trailers in some spots but they laid things out well. A few spots by the road but wasn't our problem. I didn't see another private campground I'd perfer after heading north. Great spot and would come back.

Not just a stop over

I worked for a few days in Las Cruces and I don't typically stay in developed campgrounds, especially off major interstates. What a treat this place was. I was very impressed at the quality, cleaniness, and care that has gone into maintaining this facility. Very friendly. It's on the list every time now heading down the I10. About 1 hour from White Sands.

Thanksgiving on the Rim

Luckily, we found an open spot on the Rim arriving on Thanksgiving day. Several open spots on the other side of the road. Chilly weather with some snow flurries overnight. The spots face west and make for some awesome sunset memories. Be careful at night on the Rim side for sure! I can imagine this is impossible in the summer because it's just so cool.

Great overnight spot on the way to Sedona

Very accurate and helpful reviews made this a great overnight spot when arriving after dark! The spots along the first few switchbacks appear to be relatively clean now, probably from lighter use as winter sets in. Don't let the poor road conditions at the cattle gate off 89A dissuade you, that's as bad as it gets.
