Plenty of sites but not very private. A few small trails. The water was rather gross when we were there, but the park ranger was really really friendly.
clean, private, tree-covered sites, often campsites are available on busy camping days! nice folks work here also :)
The road leading to this campsite is rough and only gets tougher as you get closer. Beautiful, absolutely silent, (and a great option if you didn’t get a yellowstone or tetons campsite) but the road is not for the faint of heart or engine!
(edit: another review mentioned that the road is being paved for next season!)
was super impressed by this one. got in later than expected and fowler’s was full, cattle camp did not disappoint. short drive or medium walk to a cold shasta swimming hole, nice trails, some highway buzz but nothing too bothersome.
